Breakaway Challenge 2008 at the RecZone

June thru August: 10 game days
The 2 vs. 2 Breakaway challenge is designed to be a fun training program that is fast paced and very beneficial to the young hockey player.

How it works:
- Each age bracket (Mini-Mite, Mite, and Squirt) is allowed 6 teams. Each team will consist of no more than 7 players, one of which is a goalie.
- The ice rink will be divided into 3 equal sections allowing for 3 separate games at the same time. Each age bracket will be allotted 1 hour per game day. During this hour the teams will rotate through allowing for 3 mini games per team.
(Ryan Schmidt and staff will be on the ice directing all of the games)

Why this is beneficial:
- This program allows for real game situations such as 2 on 2’s, 2 on 1’s, 1 on 1’s, and breakaways.
- The small game area creates situations for many shots, passes, and saves.
- Frequent games provide the developing hockey player the opportunity for an increased number of real touches of the hockey puck
- Goaltenders will receive more shots on net and will be very involved in games in order to become a better all-around hockey player.

How to register:

- Fill out completely
- Return registration form with check to Ryan Schmidt.
- Applicants will be divided into teams. You may choose to form your own team. If so, please include the names of all players on your application form.
- The cost per player is $150. If a group of 7 is able to form their own team then the cost for that group is $139 per player.
All applications must be received by May 23, 2008 in order to be eligible to play in the 2vs2 Breakaway Challenge.
